With the Gumball 3000->ke4396 now over, we’re looking back at the action. It all began in Dublin, Ireland with the Gumball 3000 Foundation’s Charity Grid. The starting order was determined by the amount of money each team donated to the foundation. The teams sourced money from individual donators wanting to see their favorite team secure the pole position.

The charity, started in 2013, benefits disadvantaged youth through educational, recreational, and environmental-focused projects all across the world. The Gumball 3000 Foundation distributed the donations between Tony Hawk Foundation, When You Wish Upon A Star, The Sir Simon Milton Foundation, The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund U.K., and The Westway Trust and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

After leaving Dublin, the Gumballers left for Bucharest with stops along the way in Edinburgh, London, Europa Park, Prague, and Budapest. The event wrapped up Saturday, May 7 with the Supercars->ke177 and Superstars Parade.

Why it matters

It’s always great to see a charity benefit, but what could be better than seeing that happen along side a hodge-podge of supercars and all-star drivers? The Gumball might be notorious for less-than-honorable tales of speeding, debauchery, and jail time, but it’s fantastic to see the event get kicked off with a positive bang.
