Hear it roar: The Maserati GranCabrio Experience

Ask any real piston-head who lives and breathes grease oil and they’ll tell you that there’s no more invigorating, satisfying, and relaxing sound than the monstrous roar of an unbridled V8 engine piercing the road.

Ok, maybe there’s also the sound of hoots and whistles from people who wish they had your ride. That’s a pretty awesome thing to hear too.

But even that is a distant second to hearing something along the lines of a 2011 V8 Maserati GranCabrio in all its uninhibited glory.

Close your eyes and listen. It’s music to our ears.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More

It really has a great sound. They say that if the engines produce a good sound, it also has a good performance on the road. And it is not just the design that Maserati should be proud of, the whole set up is perfect.

Lamest roof I’ve ever seen. This thing’s got a flimsy little ragtop that takes 28 seconds to close while the Lexus IS 350C for 1/3 of the price has a secure hardtop that opens/closes in 20 seconds.
