It sounds aggressive and sporty!

Porsche will unveil the new 911 GT3 RS before the end of 2022, although we don’t have an official launch date just yet. However, a prototype of the future RS model was caught testing around the Nurburgring free of camouflage. The guys over CarSpyMedia were at the right time and they managed to shoot a video of the car while testing at the ring and we get to hear the amazing sound of the naturally aspired engine.

Based on the regular 911 GT3, the RS version will have a more aggressive look and a more powerful engine. While in the 911 GT3 the 4.0-liter normally aspirated flat-six engine delivers a total of 503 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque, in the RS version the engine will deliver at least 520 horsepower. The engine will be mated to a PDK gearbox only and the car should sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.4 seconds. No matter the output, the engine sounds very sporty, despite the fact that Porsche had to use petrol particulate filters - as the law requires.

As for the exterior look, the RS version is both more aggressive and more aerodynamic when compared to the standard GT3. Up front, there are new vertical fins placed on each side of the bumper, while both front wheel arches feature a pair of large aerodynamic louvers. On the side, the model also gets unique side skirts, while the most obvious update over the base GT3 is the huge rear wing. In the back, there is also a more aggressive rear bumper and aero fins located behind the rear wheels. All the changes were made to improve both the aerodynamics and downforce.

Previous rumors suggested that the 911 GT3 RS will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but that never happened. However, since the car was spotted on the Nurburgring race track and is free of camouflage, we expect the car to arrive in the next few months with sales to begin in early 2023. When will be put on sale, the RS will be a little bit more expensive than the GT3. In Europe, for example, the previous GT3 was priced at €152,416 (about $160,000 at the current exchange rates), while the RS version is priced at €195,137 (about $205,000). We expect a similar difference for the new 911 GT3 and the 911 GT3 RS.
