Hennessey Performance knows a little bit more than just fine-tuning sports cars and supercars; they actually know their way around trucks too.

In this video, the performance tuning house is putting a 6.2-liter V8 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor under the proverbial dyno test. We all know what would happen if looks could kill, but once you get past that, we’re inviting you to close your eyes and let your ears take over. The sound of pure, unadulterated power; intoxicating, isn’t it?

Hold on; it’s not done. After undergoing the dyno test, the Raptor is then taken out for a spin at Hennessey’s test track where the 6.2 Raptor went up against the lap time set by it’s 5.4 counterpart when Hennessey did a previous test. As can be expected, that full second off of the 5.4’s 0-60 mph time is a testament to the monsterous engine underneath its hood.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More

Well, this car seems faster in terms of 0-60 mph time. However, I agree that this truck version is not the best option for its kind of gas guzzler. BTW, I like the aggressive look of this vehicle.

We have to admit on how popular is this pick-up truck in the US. However, I don’t think that purchasing a gas guzzler car is practical especially when there is fuel crisis. I wonder if Hennessey could offer a better fuel economy car.

Well I’m impressed! I have to say the design looks aggressive for a pickup.

I doubt with that! There are more faster car here that can surpas the speed of the raptor. for sure that dyno can take that kind of spins.

Good thing that the cable and the dyno test didn’t break during the dynotest, with that weigh and power it can easily break a dyno kits.
