Racing a muscle car against a truck sounds stupid on the onset. But, these days, it’s a common sight, especially on drag strips. Stock trucks from the factory itself are mighty powerful nowadays, so, imagine how powerful they will be when they come from a tuner’s garage. Well, this is what Hennessey is trying to prove in this video. The tuning company has transformed the Ford F-150 into a frightening monster and decided it would be a good idea to pit it against the Camaro SS. Much sadistic pleasure, Hennessey? Make sure you plug in your earphones and listen to these powerful brutes for the ultimate eargasm.

It’s Scary To See A Vehicle This Big Sprint Like That

The Hennessey F-150 VelociRaptor goes up against the sixth generation 50th anniversary Camaro SS in a series of drag races. While the result is irrelevant, Hennessey has tried to put across a couple of things here. One being that the VelociRaptor got better starts and lost by a small margin as it started to lose steam towards the end, and the second being the engine. So, the tuner claims that it is the only one in the world to still use the engine in its VelociRaptor.

The VelociRaptor Is One Of A Kind

Speaking of the F-150 VelociRaptor, the tuner has ditched the EcoBoost V-6 mill in favor of the 5.0-liter, supercharged V-8 engine. On the dyno, the engine makes 557 horses and 449 pound-feet of torque. This helps the VelociRaptor sprint to 60 mph from a standstill in 4.1 seconds. The mill is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission sourced from Ford to help spread the power in the right bands efficiently. Hennessey has included other stuff like an air-to-water intercooler, high-flow air induction, fuel injector upgrade, fuel system upgrade, stainless steel cat-back exhaust, and wiring harnesses plus an ECU.

In the aesthetics department, the VelociRaptor is dressed with Hennessey badges, Hennessey embroidered headrests, and serial number plaques, LED lighting all around plus customized bumpers. The beast rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch off-road tires. In the all-black avatar, the Hennessey F-150 VelociRaptor V-8 looks smokin’ hot!.Oh, and did I mention it rides on a six-inch lift kit?

The Camaro SS Comes With Impressive Specs

Speaking of the Camaro SS used to compete against the VelociRaptor, this 50th-anniversary muscle car is powered by a 6.2-liter, LT1 V-8 engine that produces 455 horses and 455 pound-feet of torque. The cabin follows a similar color trend with suede accents and orange contrast stitching and illuminated door sills. But the best part about this vehicle is that it is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

As for the pricing, Hennessey charges $148,000 for the VelociRaptor, and this includes the donor truck as well. If you were shopping in the same price bracket, would you consider buying the beast? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
