When Ford’s SVT engineering team decided to do something different with the Ford F-150 as opposed to the traditional tire shredding supercharged Lightning for the street, they came out with the Baja 500 ready Raptor. However as is the world of tuning, there is no such thing as enough, so the American aftermarket high performance experts at Hennessey Performance Engineering are doing it one better with their program that focuses on upgrading the 5.4 Liter power plant to produce anywhere from 450 HP all the way up to 1,000 HP. Now available for order is the VelociRaptor 500, an off road special that develops a maximum output of 501 HP and 520 lb-ft of torque allowing the full size half ton to sprint from 0 to 60 MPH in 5.6 seconds with and run the quarter mile in a sports car like 14.1 seconds at 97 MPH at the end of the end of the 1320.

Well, come to think of it, who would need a truck that has a thousand horse power under it’s hood? But if it can do that, it truly is a good pick up truck. The name really is fit for it cause it’ll be a monster with that much HP.

ford really picked a good name for this monster. can’t imagine how fast this velociraptor can go with a 1000hp under the hood.
