Henosis - the next generation vehicle

The 5th Edition of the Peugeot Design Contest has an interesting theme: “Imagine the Peugeot in the worldwide megalopolis of tomorrow”. This theme makes the designers that enter the contest to include in their concept car design environmental awareness, social harmony, interactive mobility and economic efficiency.

Alexei Mikhailov entered in the Peugeot Design Contest with his eco-friendly concept car Henosis (in Greek it means unity, oneness). Alexei Mikhailov design a vehicle that unites the driver with the machine, in such a way that the car can analyze the environment, driver’s mood, expression, and body temperature to provide the most comfortable and safe driving experience.

The design wants to explore the new possibilities of car construction in order to obtain the perfect body. The car, made from light weight carbon nano tube polished aluminum, looks like a space vehicle made not to be driven on the road, but to explore new planets.

Henosis has a very simple and efficient power configuration: the hydrogen fuel cell and its tank are located at the back, with additional battery and superconductors at the front. The whole system delivers electric current to the quad motors located in each of the wheel units, allowing for instant acceleration and power delivered individual by each wheel making it economically efficient.

The interior reflects the unity between car and driver. The gas and brake pedals are placed into the steering unit that simulate a console game pad allowing faster response and simplified controls. The speedometer and head up display is projected onto the windshield itself, providing direct observational information and entertainment without distraction from the ultimate driving experience.

I think that the design has some glitches: the rear is too high, you have no visibility in the back (maybe the car has cameras increase visibility), the steering unit is too complicated with the acceleration and the brake pedals on it (in a corner a driver could have some troubles doing the necessary maneuvers with all the controls on the steering unit). In rest the Henosis is great concept car.

I’ve seen so many strange cars but this one’s great. It looks very futuristic, and I thought that this was a space ship. The interior is really amazing. I can’t wait to see this come to life.

The interior concept meets the designer wants to unite the driver with the engine of the vehicle. The car looks like a space car to go to other planets.

I’m really amazed but somehow in doubt because this is so unreal. A very cool and nice car concept. I will not be surprised if the car to be invented in the future can fly or somehow be your office.

Well, the concept really looks nice. But I wish they could come up with ideas that are a little bit closer to reality.

Well, even though it may come to the point when cars would look like this, I don’t think that it would be the case for another decade or two. I mean the changes that we need now is not with how a car would look but its on how the engine performs. How much emission does it produce and how much mileage can you get out of it are some of the few concerns.
