The pickup market has grown vertically and horizontally beyond imagination. Pickup trucks are looking a lot smarter these days and are heavy on tech-savvy features. You can have performance trucks and even electrification has infiltrated into the segment. But, what about the luxurious aspect? Yes, your Fords and Rams have upped the ante and are starting to look glorious, but who said these are your typical luxurious trucks? Imagine a truck with all the bells and whistles that carries a proud Rolls Royce or a Bentley badge. Not able to think of what it would look like? Well, here’s a rendering by Rain Prisk that shows us what a truck from Rolls Royce could look like. Fancy, isn’t it?

Is This Is A Niche Really Want?

What once used to be a segment catering to farmers and job site workers is now going to levels one couldn’t have imagined. This might just be a rendering for now, but it won’t take long for companies like Bentley and Roll Royce to come up with a truck of their own. Rendering artist, Rain Prisk, has shown us what a Rolls Royce truck could look like. He has used the Cullinan as a base, which makes sense, and has rendered the pickup that looks rugged and tough on the outside, but might as well be as luxurious as the SUV on the inside.

There are flared fenders with black plastic cladding that also runs on the entirety of the body, a spoiler on the back of the cab, and huge off-road tires with black (and white) wheels. However, the opulent stuff like the suicide doors, LED taillights, and other features that define a Rolls Royce are retained. It also appears to have a longer wheelbase and a taller stance than the Cullinan.

Given The Dynamics Of The Industry, We Could See It Happening In The Future

Will Rolls Royce come up with something like this anytime soon? I’m not so sure because the company is not able to cope up with the demand of the Cullinan itself despite running at 100-percent production capacity. This is what the company’s U.S. head, Martin Fritsches, said earlier this year, "I would like to have a little bit more supply”. "I don't get it because we are running on 100-percent of production capacity, increasing the production capacity throughout the weeks and months, but still not being able to catch up to demand." But, I’m quite certain that either Rolls Royce or one of its rivals will come out with a truck in the near years, which will propel other automakers to come up with one, too; well, peer pressure!

The Cullinan Is A Pricey Beast With Everything You Can Ask For

Speaking of the Rolls Royce Cullinan, the BMW-brand has based this on the Phantom to a large extent. It looks like nothing but a Rolls Royce on the onset. To put the size into perspective, it is much larger than the Bentley Bentayga. The Cullinan is as luxurious as one can expect it to be. But, that’s not necessarily a good thing because Rolls Royce played it a little too safe by making it look like the Phantom. You can say that it is a Phantom in an SUV’s body. There’s a lot of hide used inside the cabin along with wood trims, and an infotainment screen on the wider center console, to name a few features.

Even the drivetrain is borrowed from the Phantom, albeit with a few tweaks. Power is sent to all four wheels – the first time ever for a Rolls Royce - via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The Cullinan rides on a new suspension system that comes with a double-wishbone setup in the front and a five-link axle to the rear, and four-wheel steering. As for the pricing, Rolls Royce has priced it at $325,000, and despite this exorbitant pricing, the company is not able to keep up with the demand!
