With the Lamborghini Aventador officially axed, many wondered what the next flagship Lambo would look like and what engine will it have. While it has been confirmed that the Aventador successor will still have a naturally-aspirated V-12 engine, the prototype is still heavily camouflaged. Luckily, there are enough visible design cues to give us a good idea of what the big “Lambo” would look like. It comes from TheSketchMonkey, and from what Lamborghini has done in the past, we believe this one is quite close to reality.

Even with all the camouflage, the test mule bears a lot of resemblance to the Lamborghini Sian, which is also the brand’s first hybrid supercar. If we go back more than a decade, the Lamborghini Reventon – another highly-exclusive Lamborghini model – preceded the Aventador, to which it bears a striking resemblance. We already know that the Aventador successor will share a lot with the Sian in terms of the powertrain, but now we can be certain it will also share a lot of its aesthetics.

The front end seems to have a variation of the Sian headlights, while the rear is a bit of a mixed story. The high-mounted, quad-exhaust tips have a similar arrangement to the dual-exhaust tips on the Aventador SVJ and Huracan. The taillights seem to resemble those of the Lamborghini Veneno. The side profile is a bit more conventional in a way that it resembles the Aventador. However, the air intakes near the flaps look very similar to those of the Terzo Millennio. Overall, it’s shaping up to be a mix of Lamborghini’s most radical design cues to date.

TheSketchMonkey gives us a fairly accurate representation of what the final design of the Aventador successor would be like. That said, the prototype still appears to have a bigger air intake in front of the rear wheel arches. The prototype also doesn’t seem to have the Y-shaped LED headlights as the Sian, but they still look like a variation of the design. Take a look for yourself and tell us what you think.
