As promised, Porsche has unveiled the new 911 Turbo S, which is, of course, wider, more powerful, and quicker in the sprint from a standstill.

At its rear lies the same 3.8-liter flat-six unit found inside the 911 Carrera, but the engine has been brought to new heights in terms of both power and torque. Here’s all the essential info on the new Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, which can be had as both a coupé and a cabriolet.

This is the 911 Turbo S we’re talking, so performance has to come first. Porsche has made sure of that by tweaking the 3.8-liter straight-six to crank out 640 horsepower (that’s 69 horsepower more than the previous 911 Turbo S), while torque goes as high as 800 Newton-meters (590 pound-feet) (a 50-Newton-meter/37 pound-feet of twist bump over the previous-generation Turbo S). These figures were extracted with the help of two larger variable turbine geometry turbos.

The eight-speed PDK is still there, and it helps the Turbo S sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.7 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than the old 911 Turbo S, and on to a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) takes 8.9 seconds.

Size-wise, the new 911 Turbo S is 45 mm wider (1,840 mm) on the front axle and 20 mm wider on the rear axle (1,900 mm). Track size also took a hike: by 42 mm in the front and by 10 mm in the rear. Porsche also threw in its PASM chassis that now sits 10 mm lower to the ground and a sports exhaust with adjustable flaps letting you know the Turbo S is talking.

In Germany, the Turbo S Coupé starts at €216,369 ($240,000, roughly), while the Turbo S Cabriolet demands at least €229,962 ($255,000, roughly).
