This is a big one. Yes, yes, it’s that time of year when you have the Annual Top Gear Mega test. Chris Harris got a chance to check out this year's lineup of cars where he along with his team were giving the task of deciding the best performance car for 2021.

Overview

In the film, Top Gear Magazine’s editor, Jack Rix, caught up with the one and only Chris Harris to help decide the best performance car of the year. In front of them lay 12400 bhp and 6 Million Quid (or $8.24 Million) worth of exotic machinery.

They had a monumental 26 cars at hand. Even getting five exotics together can be something, but getting 26, now that's a bit of a stretch isn’t it? But hey, that's Top Gear for you, and they’re great at such kind of stuff.

Coming to the car’s, you’ve got everything from lightweight front-wheel-drive hatchbacks to full-on 1000 horsepower exotics. Believe it or not, there’s even one car that uses a jet-turbine-like fan. I’ll try my best to list out all of the cars that feature in this test and break them up into categories. But I’ll let Chris himself give you an in-depth overview of each of the cars in the video posted at the end of this article.

Conclusion

With that, it’s a wrap. The guys at Top Gear had to go through 26 cars and decide which one of them was worthy of being crowned the 2021 champ. The team and Stig, had these machines to themselves for two whole days, both on track and on the road. After much deliberation, they narrowed down the contenders to just five. A road trip would eventually help decide the winner. Any guesses? Although the video itself didn't reveal the winner, Hyundai says that the i20 N was crowned the winner of 2021 Top Gear Speed Week.
