Hugely talked-about before launch and hugely talked-about after launch. That’s what we can say, in short, about the amount of coverage received by the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette. And for good reason. It’s Chevy’s first-ever mid-engined Vette and a cracking sports cars that offers thrills for a lot less money that some of its fancier rivals. As it turns out, though, the C8 Corvette is not perfect. But then again, what car is?

Youtuber finds 5 things he dislikes about his new C8 Corvette

Mid-engined for the first time ever. V-8 powered. Rear-wheel-driven. Priced at $59,995. 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque on tap. 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds. There’s a lot to like about the C8. However, as owners start receiving their cars and more importantly, drive them, minor complains are bound to exist. After all, there’s not a single car roaming this planet’s streets that’s perfect.

Youtuber Chevy Dude put together a video that shows what he doesn’t like about his C8 Corvette, which he drove for 1,200 miles since delivery. And as he points out, this is the kind of stuff that’s impossible to spot during a press drive or even a run-of-the-mill review.

One of Chevy Dude’s soft rants is about the C8’s front-facing cameras, which he finds pretty cool and useful. The setup, however, lacks the guiding lines (those that let you see how close you’re getting to an object) which, by the way, exist on the same system found inside the C7 Corvette.

Another thing the vlogger noticed is that the speed displayed on the Corvette’s HUD (head-up display) doesn’t match the speed caught by the car’s PDR (Performance Data Recorder). What’s more, he also talks about how the HUD is laggy and how there’s a whistling sound coming from the side mirror when travelling with the window down, as well as the rear parking sensor’s late response.

Now, we won’t go for ages beating around the bush and describing what’s happening in the video, so feel free to and watch it for yourself. By the way, C8 owners, were you able to spot these little goofy flaws as well in your cars or different ones? Let us know in the comments section below.
