It's no surprise that there's a shortage of new cars right now, and that doesn't exempt niche, high-performance cars like the new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. We live in a period where almost nothing seems right, and that includes this year's allocation for the Z06. That's because if you want to order one right now, then you're out of luck.

You Can't Order A Corvette Z06 Anymore This Year

Production of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 hasn't been smooth. As a matter of fact, GM's Bowling Green, Kentucky plant wasn't even producing cars until September 5th due to ongoing parts shortages. Unfortunately for the Z06, orders have been suspended until the end of 2022. This means that more people might flip their Z06 units for profit due to this extraordinary shortage of the highly-anticipated supercar.

The high demand for such a niche vehicle isn't all that surprising. With a base price of $106,395 for a mid-engined supercar with 670 horsepower and a Ferrari-like flat-plane crank high-revving V-8, what's not to like, right? Well, it seems the Z06 has received an extraordinarily high amount of reservations that GM simply can't produce them all

Chevrolet Global President Scott Bell said through a webcast shared via Corvette Blogger the following statement:

Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

If you order a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 now, chances are what you will be getting is a 2024 model, which will most likely come with minor equipment or cosmetic upgrades.

What surely won't change is its excellent handling, its world-class 5.5-liter LT6 flat-plane crank V-8 that produces 670 horses and 460 pound-feet of torque, and its 0-60 mph time of just 2.6 seconds. This makes it just as fast as the best that Europe can offer like the McLaren 720S, but for a fraction of the cost. Oh, and if you want even better handling out of your Corvette Z06, you can opt for the Z07 Performance Package. Just be prepared a waiting time even longer than it already is.
