Honda to add Google Earth Navigation
Honda’s Floating Car Data system, a highly advanced navigation setup, made its debut in September 2003 on Japan-market Hondas. The system transmits data from an equipped vehicle in real-time to an operations center and returns updates about traffic jams, road accidents and other navigational information to the driver.
The advanced navigation system was first launched in 2003, offering a wireless connection to the internet to download the latest traffic information to the built-in computer. The technology is now being expanded to interface to Google Earth, which provides high-resolution satellite images of cities.
