iacocca-45th-anniversary-special-edition-ford-mustang-sells-for-89-950
With only 45 models ever built, it’s easy to see why there’s such an uproar over the [Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang->ar77847]. First of all, its limited run makes it, well, a prized collector’s fantasy. Second of all, seeing as the car has been decked with the insanely cool ‘Iacocca’ silver hue, it’s bound to get its fair share of onlookers, wishing they were the ones sitting behind the wheel of this car.
And if there’s proof that this car is being fought over by car nuts all around, you don’t need to search very far to know that despite being officially priced at just a shade under 90 thousand – it’s $89,950, to be exact – the car is still being fetched at over six digits in a number of car auctions, including one where a bidder actually bid $125,000 for one the 45 Iacocca’s.
Other dealers have also reportedly sold this special-edition car for well over six digits, partly because of some simple economics: high demand for a limited supply of the Iacocca Mustang means that dealers have a license to jack up their prices. It may not be the nicest thing to do, but hey, business is business, right?
We don’t know how many of Iacocca Mustangs have already been sold but we do know that when an already limited supply dwindles, then you can expect to see much higher prices down the road. If you’re lucky, you can pluck one of these cars for its SRP.
But in any other scenario, you might have to shell out more than what the car costs. But hey, it’s the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang. It’s as special edition as special editions can get.
