• ICYMI: The Next McLaren Ultimate Series, Code Named P15, Will Debut This Saturday!

Check it out at 7pm eastern time!

The next model to join the McLaren Ultimate Series, the McLaren P15, is set to make its debut on December 9, 2017, at 7:00 pm EST. It’s only been a month since it was first teased with nothing more than an image of the tri-exhaust setup and now we’re looking at another teaser along with word of when we will actually get our first look at the next track-focused road-going monster that is said to have sacrificed daily drivability for a more intensive driver experience. How that translates into a road-going car, we’re not sure, but it’s not like most McLaren owners drive their cars on a daily anyway, right? With that said, it will be the most extreme road-legal McLaren to date but is just the third of 15 new models that McLaren plans to unleash by 2022. For those of who haven’t looked at a calendar in a while, that’s just over four years away.

The next model in line is the BP23, which is also shrouded in mystery but will be the world’s first Hyper-GT. Our McLaren P15 article has some spy shots of a new McLaren, but at this point, things are so sketchy that we don’t know if it’s the P15 of the BP23 but either way, we’re not going to be disappointed that’s for sure. The P15 will be produced in limited numbers and will be the second model to take on the central driving position that was originally introduced by the legendary and record-setting McLaren F1. Is it going to be a true successor to the F1? We don’t know, but one this is for sure: It’s sure to be something we won’t soon forget. For now, take a look at both teaser images below, then check out our speculative review of the P15 with the few spy shots that we do have. Let us know what you think in the comments section too – we look forward to hearing from you!

Update 12/8/2017: This short article was updated with proper Eastern time zone format and a new title. Check back with us Saturday evening to get the scoop on the new McLaren Ultimate Series car

Press release

McLaren Automotive, the British creator of luxury sports and super cars, confirmed today at the Dubai International Motor Show that its next Ultimate Series model will be revealed online on December 10, 2017, at 00:01 GMT.

With daily usability sacrificed to give the most intensive driver experience around a circuit, the new Ultimate Series car will be the ultimate track-concentrated McLaren. Designed as the most extreme road-legal McLaren ever, it is the third of 15 new models or derivatives due by the end of 2022 under the McLaren Track22 business plan. It will be delivered ahead of a second future Ultimate Series model codenamed BP23, which aims to be the world’s first Hyper-GT.

Positioned above McLaren’s core Super Series, the Ultimate Series has previously comprised the McLaren P1™ and McLaren P1™ GTR. Like these two cars, the new generation of McLaren Ultimate Series models will be available in strictly limited numbers.

A second image that further hints at the track focus of the car has been issued in the build-up to the December online reveal and is available from cars.mclaren.press. The public debut of the new McLaren is scheduled to place in March, at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show.
