A no-nonsense, old-school take on the modern Porsche 911, the Carrera T has been a big hit with enthusiasts. Porsche is now building on the momentum with T-badged versions of the 718 Boxster and Cayman.

Old-school stripes, no infotainment

Design-wise, the T models stand out only on close inspection. Unique features include grey mirror caps, 20-inch wheels in a high-gloss grey finish, and black exhaust pipes.

The interior is a little more sporty than usual, thanks to bolstered sport seats with "718" embroidery, gloss-black trim, race-inspired, textile door pulls, and T-badged door sill plates. More importantly, the sports cars don't feature an infotainment system as standard equipment to save weight. However, you can still have it as a no-cost option if you don't mind adding on a few pounds.

Standard power, extra features

Under the hood, the T model remains a basic Boxster and Cayman. Both feature the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Porsche offers both six-speed manual and PDK gearbox options. The sprint to 60 mph remains identical to the regular cars at 4.9 seconds with the manual, 4.7 clicks with the PDK, and 4.5 seconds in Sport Plus mode. Top speed is identical too at 170 mph.

There's no word on pricing yet, but Porsche said that buyers will enjoy a "price advantage of 5 – 10% compared to a similarly equipped basic model." Expect the Cayman T to remain under the $60,000 mark, while the Boxster T might cost a bit more than $60K.
