Another way to make the one-percenter life even easier

Bentley as always served the likes of the world’s wealthiest one percent, and don’t hold your breath if you’re expecting that to change anytime soon. Offering some of the world’s most luxurious vehicles like the Bentley Continental, Bentley Mulsanne, and even the Bentley Flying Spur, Bentley attracts some of the worlds’ biggest lushes – a statement that can be backed solely by the $160,000 Breitling for Bentley Mulliner Tourbillon in-dash clock that is available as an option in the Bentayga SUV. But, it’s about to get worse. Partnering up with Filld, Bently is now offering a pilot program that will allow Bentley customers to order fuel and have it delivered – effectively putting an end to the embarrassing need to stop at one of those dirty gas stations like the rest of the world’s normal people.

For now, this pilot program is only available in California at this time but is expected to eventually expand to other markets as well. Bentley owners get access to a new mobile app called “Filld for Bentley” that they can use to select a location and time for filling, be it at home, at work, or at the local health food store. And, thanks to the new connected nature of new cars, Bentley owners don’t even have to break a sweat unlocking the fuel fill door as the fuel delivery driver will be able to do all of the hard work.

Christophe Georges, Bentley’s Director of Product and Marketing, said, “Bentley ownership is about more than just the vehicle – it’s the entire luxury experience. We are continuously investigating ways in which to offer our customers tailored, convenient, smart services that afford them the greatest luxury of all: more time. Our Connected Car strategy will continue to expand and innovate in order to further enhance the Bentley lifestyle.

So there you have it. If you own a Bentley and live in California, you no longer have to deal with those dreaded folks that pump their own gas. And, it’s a simple as calling for roadside assistance. Eventually, as cars become more connected, owners won’t even have to request a fuel delivery. The car will automatically alert Filld, and set up a time around the owner’s schedule for refueling. Filld will show up and bill the owner directly, leaving the owner to go about his one-percenter duties without having to even think about getting has.

It’s Getting a Little Ridiculous

In the Name of Luxurious Laziness, Bentley Now Offering Fuel Delivery to Some Clients

Luxury comes at a high price, but it sure has its advantages, doesn’t it? Think about it, you spend hundreds of thousands on a car, plus another hundred thousand on options, why should you need to stop and get gas. Well, the car can’t do that itself (yet) but, until then, Filld seems to have the ultimate answer, and it comes as no surprise that Bentley is the first one to jump on the fuel delivery bandwagon. Of course, the overly wealthy are used to having people do things for them – cook their food, drive them around, raise the kids; you know the usual – so I’m sure this program will get a lot of use from Bentley customers in California. Surely, this program will expand to other markets that are heavy with Bentley customers, and I wouldn’t doubt it if Rolls-Royce and a handful of exotic car makers like Ferrari, McLaren, and Lamborghini don’t jump on the same wagon soon enough. Until then, Bentley seems to have a pretty big selling point over its main competitors.

Bentley is today announcing a collaborative trial with an innovative American technology start-up, Filld – a mobile app-based fuel-delivery service. This new collaboration is part of the luxury British brand’s on-going Connected Car strategy.

The convenient app-based ‘Filld for Bentley’ service will initially be available to customers in California, affording owners the ultimate time-saving luxury of never having to search for or stop at a fuel station again.

In a first for Bentley customers, all owners need do is simply open the innovative Filld for Bentley app, choose a delivery time, and their fuel will be delivered wherever and whenever they require. This first-ever Connected Car integration means that customers don’t even need to unlock the fuel cap themselves, or identify the car’s exact location as this is done for them securely through the Filld for Bentley service.

The ground-breaking Filld fuel-delivery service provides Bentley drivers with an unparalleled level of convenience, and the two companies foresee additional benefits in the future, including predictive fuel ordering where the car places an order for itself based on fuel level, location and customer preferences.

Bentley’s Director of Product and Marketing, Christophe Georges, said: “Bentley ownership is about more than just the vehicle – it’s the entire luxury experience. We are continuously investigating ways in which to offer our customers tailored, convenient, smart services that afford them the greatest luxury of all: more time. Our Connected Car strategy will continue to expand and innovate in order to further enhance the Bentley lifestyle.”

Cofounder and CTO of Filld, Christopher Aubuchon, added: “Filld and Bentley share a vision for leveraging powerful connected car technology – to one day eliminate the need for customers to refuel their cars themselves, removing inconvenience, and giving them more of their valuable time back.”
