At an interview at the Frankfurt Auto Show, Carlos Tavares, Nissan Motor Co.’s global product boss announced that by 2010 Infiniti’s line-up will expand by 50%, meaning a lineup of “10 or so” nameplates.

Even if Infiniti hasn’t decided what models will bring, Tavares said: "You can imagine — crossovers, a sports-oriented car, a high-end car."

Infiniti will also expand into western Europe in fall 2008. Tavares says efforts to expand Infiniti’s geographic reach are necessary to build volumes. A broader lineup will spur dealer investment in high-end stores, he says.
