Infiniti Teases New Car For 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show
It looks like the second-generation QX50by Ciprian Florea, on
The 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show is just around the corner, and some automakers are already giving us hints of what to expect. Infiniti is among them, and it just launched a new teaser for what it calls its "most advanced car ever." The brand doesn’t give out the vehicle’s name, but the teaser shows part of the front grille and a headlamp, and based on these details it appears to be a crossover. Most likely, it’s the next-generation QX50. Launched as the EX in 2007, the QX was last redesigned in 2013. Granted, it’s not very old, but it’s one of the last Infinitis to sport the company’s previous design language. It feels old compared to other models, so a redesign for 2018 makes a lot of sense.
It’s pretty obvious from the teaser that the new QX50 will find its place in the current lineup. It has the massive grille with a honeycomb mesh and much skinnier headlamps. The latter are unlike other headlamps seen so far on Infinitis, being made of four different square LED elements and J-shaped daytime LED strips. I can also spot vertical intakes at the corners, which should give the front fascia a menacing look. Specific information is not yet available, but the brand says it will boast "world-first technologies" and "class-leading interior space." We should find out more at the end of the month so make sure you stick around for updates and a full review.
