Inside Line tested the 2009 Nissan GT-R and the results are unbelievable: 0 to 60 mph sprint in just 3.3 seconds! Faster than the last Dodge Viper, Corvette Z06 or the Porsche 911 Turbo.

The 2009 GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that generates at least 473 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. Nissan claimed that the 0 to 60 mph sprint will be made in 3.5 seconds, but Inside Line proved they were wrong: 3.3-second 0-60-mph run and 11.6 seconds at 120.9 mph. The conclusion: The GT-R is the fastest car ever tested by them!

The Porsche 911 Turbo Tiptronic makes the 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, the Dodge Viper in 3.7 seconds and the Corvette Z06 in 4.1 seconds.

jtm, I don’t think the Viper or the ZR1 will be having any luck either. Why? because the Viper ran the 1/4 mile in 11.6 with huge tyres to improve traction. The GT-R ran the 1/4 mile in 11.7 with factory tyres and did 11.5(documented) in a test done in Japan. Even with 11.7 seconds, downright impressive, I’ll say.

True baddist, that is impressive but I don’t think this Porche will be keeping up with the GT-R. With the new Lexus, not so sure, but I don’t think even a Porche can compete with the looks of Lexus.

sport mode on a porsche turbo with overboost on drops 0 -60 to 3.1 seconds..only on the tiptronic. but to launch from 0 -60 in 3.4 with no add ons like that of the porsche is very impressive. want to see how toyota’s(the lexus is-f) measures up.

this car is a work of art from top to bottom. great acceleration top speed is pretty great and the handling is unmatched.. the viper is all about its engine.. dont compare the two.. no offense to the viper but this car is just all around better and thats coming from a muscle car fan.

this car excels in all area of car performance...

this is a real super car

ok this car is amazing but why would you compare it to a viper... the viper is for pure acceleration and drag to a high speed... this car is for races around a track. the two cars are built for two entirely different things... either car could win in their own territory but they dont stand a chance in the others...

that being said i’d take this over the vette b/c the use of handling is a little more practical than accelerating to 200 mph in 18 seconds... or whatever the viper and ZR1 go this is for street racing and track racing while the other two would kick on a drag or the freeway

Nice one badest. LS7BOYZ, all your v8s can do is snarl and you know what they say about barking dogs. You wanna embrass yourselves against a car with a smaller engine, lower hp and more weight, fine.

SonicSammy, I know you were trying to insult the GT-R but stop twisting a compliment and come up with a better insult.

well, almost as fast as my motorcyclesmiley I had thought no cars under $500K would match the performance of even a 600cc bike (costing 9K) in 0-60. I’ll be surprised.

but look the z-r1 and the ViperACR stiil have to come out so it go wipe that little spider face off the GT-R face
