Amidst all the buzz surrounding electrification, the guys at TheStraightPipes brought in two muscle cars for an epic V-8 showdown. Well, one of them is a true-blue American muscle, but the other is a Japanese. But, before we discount it, this car has managed to hold its fort in a segment ruled by the Mustang, the Challenger, and the Camaro. I’m talking about the Lexus RC-F.

The folks at the channel compared the Lexus RC-F Track Edition with the Mustang Mach-1 in various aspects. Which one do you think came out looking better?

The Mustang Mach-1 Has Big Shoes To Fill

The Mustang GT350 has set a high benchmark. For around $60,000, the car offered a lot. The Mach 1 needs to fill those shoes and live up to the legendry moniker’s credibility. Power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, but you can also opt for the 10-speed automatic. With the manual gearbox, it takes around four seconds to sprint to 60 mph and the top speed is in excess of 163 mph.

The Lexus RC-F Track Edition, on the other hand, is not a value-for-money car by any means.Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Track Edition RC-F takes four seconds to 60 mph from rest and has a top speed of 168 mph.

While the Mustang Mach-1 comes with goodies like Torsen automatic torque differential, rear sway bar, etc., the RC-F comes with niceties like carbon-ceramic brakes, a carbon fiber hood, titanium exhaust, etc.

How Are The Mach-1 and RC-F Track Edition Priced?

The Mach-1 starts at around $52,300, whereas the RC-F Track Edition starts at $97,000! There is a huge price difference, but the latter is the top-spec RC-F whereas the Mustang Mach-1 sits below the GT500 in the hierarchy.
