Good news Jaguar->ke39 fans. The latest spy shots of the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace show the high-riding Jaguar being tested at the Nürburgring,->ke999 which is a promising sign for the British brand’s first crossover->ke288. Unfortunately, there is still heavy camouflage obscuring the styling of the F-Pace,->ke5038 but these images do reveal a couple of minor details.

The biggest change that has occurred from previous cold-weather test mules spotted in February, is this F-Pace is wearing lower-profile tires with what could be more production-intent wheels. As is usually the case with vehicle design translated from concept to production form, the tire/wheel packages on this prototype don’t do as good a job of filling the wheel wells as the ones on the 2014 Jaguar C-X17 Concept.

Taken from a higher vantage point, these spy shots give a slight glimpse of the size of the F-Pace’s sunroof, which extends almost all the way to the C-pillar. Perhaps the only change between the two recent set of spy shots->ke166 is that this Nürburgring-lapping F-Pace wears a little less camo on the front fenders, indicating the presence of a fender vent – a Jaguar styling cue also found on the C-X17.

We shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to see the full design of the F-Pace, since the crossover is slated to make its big debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show->ke235.

Why it matters

While these spy shots don’t reveal any new styling details about the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace, they do show one way that Jaguar will differentiate the F-Pace from the small SUVs->ke145 offered by Land Rover.->ke46 While Land Rover’s full lineup promises go-anywhere off-road abilities, the F-Pace looks to carry Jaguar’s family tradition of being on-road performers.
