Sam for ‘Sam CarLegion’ staged yet another drag race and uploaded the video on his YouTube channel. This time, he had the Jaguar F-Type and the Lexus LC500 on the drag strip with him. Both the cars feature a 5.0-liter V-8 under the hood, but that is pretty much where all the similarities end. One car’s got a supercharger attached to the engine, while the other is a free-flowing naturally aspirated mill. One is an all-wheel-drive model, and the other, a RWD. One makes more torque and the other churns out more horses. Which car do you have your bets on?

Two Beasts Get Together For A Series Of Races

An eight-speed automatic gearbox channels the oomph to all four wheels. It tips the scales only at 3,945 pounds, which is pretty impressive.

Power is routed to the rear wheels here exclusively via a 10-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the Jag, the LC500 doesn’t watch its weight. It weighs 4,371 pounds, which makes it 426 pounds heavier than the F-Type.

There Was A Surprise Here

With all the specs now known, you know the Jaguar holds all the aces. It makes more torque, features an all-wheel-drive system, and is over 400 pounds lighter. So, was the first race a dud in that sense? Well, yeah. The Jaguar beat the LC500 straight off the line and scored a comprehensive win.

However, things were different the second time. The LC500 got a perfect launch this time around and got the lead right off the bat and managed to keep it that way till the finish line. The F-Type was closing in on the Japanese rival, but ran out of space to lose by a small margin.

Next up was a roll race from 50 kmph. The Jaguar managed to have a better kickdown and kept the Lexus at bay till the finish line. I honestly expected the LC500 to do better this time around, so it was a little surprising. Nevertheless, the final scorecard read 2-1 in favor of the Jaguar.
