The Covid pandemic affected Jaguar sales very bad: in 2020 alone sales were down 13.6% when compared to the previous year. In fact, right now, the company's lineup includes only five models, three of which are SUVs. Things will continue the same in the future, but on an all-electrical level. Jaguar plans to launch three new electric SUVs in the next few years, with pricing for the cheapest starting at £100,000 ($121,000 at the current exchange rates) - a price that will bring the brand into Bentley territory. Jaguar hopes to sell around 50,000-60,000 units a year, significantly increasing the sales figures of the brand.

All three new models will be built on the same Panthera platform and will have closely related mechanical packages. The new platform will be jointly developed by JLR engineers and automotive supply giant Magna. It will be an aluminum platform made substantially from recycled materials - for example, old drink cans. In fact, all future Jaguar models will have a very low environmental impact and use luxurious materials from sustainable sources. Also, the software for all the future Jaguar models will be developed by tech giant Nvidia, including the car's cloud connectivity and autonomous driving capabilities. All three models will also be built in the same plant in Solihull, UK.

The entry-level version will have a similar size to the future Porsche Taycan EV and will be offered in both three and five-door form. It will be offered with single-motor and dual-motor powertrains and prices will be around £80,000-£90,000 ($97,000 - $109,000 at the current exchange rates), with the SVR version going up to £120,000 ($145,000).

As for the flagship model, it will be aimed at markets like China and the U.S. where the request for bigger models is higher. Unlike the entry-level version, it will be built on a 200 mm wheelbase and will be offered with dual-motor, four-wheel-drive layout as standard. It will start from £120,000 ($145,000), with the SVR version going up to £200,000 ($242,000).

However, according to Nick Collins - a Jaguar Land Rover executive - the three models will not be revealed until the company will "have something great to show." Until then, Jaguar will unveil a new model heavily inspired by the Vision Gran Turismo concept in the next two years. It will be unveiled at a globally significant motor show in 2024. It should give us a very good idea of how Jaguar's future design language will look. As for the first electric SUV, it is rumored to be launched sometime in 2025.
