Rumors about a 911 competitor from Jaguar have been circulating for quite a while now. Well, Jaguar is now one step closer when it trademarked the C-XE and C-XJ names. The C-XJ is the name of the concept version of the future generation XJ sedan. The C-XE should be the name of the a concept of a two-seat sports car called XE that is set to be revealed in 2012.

Jaguar may be looking to go further into the sports car market now that Ford is no longer in the picture. As a part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group, Jaguar was stopped from making certain sports cars so it would not cannibalize sales from Aston Martin. Now that Jaguar is owned by Tata, it has no performance ceiling.
