Our photographer Quentin Lhussier, just caught the new Jaguar XKR convertible practicing at the Nurburgring. Comparing those spy shots to the previous shots seen on the internet, you can see that the rear light are different. No light appear in the trunk area. You can also see dinstinctively a Roll cage, which should let us believe that the final chassis is not done yet and they are only testing the engine for performance and reliability.

Power for the high-performance XKs will come from a supercharged version of Jaguar’s 4.2-liter V8. Expect around 400 horses and an equivalent amount of torque, the six-speed automatic from the standard models should be enough to get the XKR from zero to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

Like most factory tuner jobs, the XKR’s will get the usual round of chassis and driveline enhancements. Stuff like bigger and more powerful brakes, quicker steering and a revised version of the Jaguar’s Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) are all likely part of the "R" package. More heavily bolstered sport seats and a few "R" badges are bound to make their way into the cabin as well.
