While I'm no fan of pink-painted cars, I wouldn't mind owning a Panther Pink Challenger->ke249 or a Moulin Rouge 'Cuda. ->ke1486 These are the only cars I would really enjoy in this feminine hue. Pink was quite common on American cars from the 1950s to the 1970s, being offered even on land yachts such as the Cadillac Eldorado->ke2068 and the Lincoln Continental.->ke1176 There weren't any pink Corvettes->ke1280 though...

What's with all the pink talk you may ask? Well, Jay Leno's Garage->ke3731 just rolled out a new episode in which the former TV show host gives us a walkaround of the 1968 Playmate Of The Year AMX. And as you might have already guessed, it's pink.

There weren't any pink AMXs coming from the factory between 1968 and 1970, when the nameplate was in production, but American Motors made an exception when it signed a marketing contract with Playboy Enterprises. The agreement meant that AMC had to paint an AMX in the official Playmate Pink for Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Year. The 1968 AMX, which was powered by the base 290 cubic-inch V-8, went to Angela Dorian. The car featured a special dashboard number plate containing Dorian's measurements, making her car AMX 36-24-35.

What's particularly interesting about this AMX is that Dorian kept it until 2010, when Mark Melvin bought it and restored it to its original color. Check out the video for more info on what's arguably one of the most iconic AMXs ever built.
