Jay Leno shares stories with Lee Iacocca and the Iacocca 45th Anniversary Mustang

Even a guy as steeped in auto history as Jay Leno is still subject to being in awe of certain people. After all, when the comedian was still a young pup, he had already developed a passion for high-performance vehicles with one of which being the Ford Mustang.

Now a full-fledged millionaire and the owner of one of the most awesome car collections you’ll ever find, Leno had no other than the father of the Mustang, Lee Iacocca, drop by and pay him a visit.

Together with his own ’No. 01’ 45th Anniversary Mustang Iacocca Edition, the iconic and legendary businessman credited for the first-ever Mustang talked shop with the comedian, discussing a number of items, including his relationship with Carroll Shelby - another American automotive pioneer - and the roots behind the development of the car that would later became an American icon itself: the Mustang.

After their brief but highly informative chat, Leno was given permission by Iacocca to take his own car out for a spin where true to his mischievous side, Leno decided to shake the 45th Anniversary Mustang Iacocca Edition down and even give it a nice, little burnout.

I hope Jay Leno would also invite us to take a glance of his collections. And will allows us to test drive all of it. That’s one great wish. Hope it will come true.

This show really keeps me interested and learning the history of the Mustang is such a great honor especially when the iconic man in the auto industry discussed it with you!

I can’t remember if Leno has already guested Carroll Shelby in the past episodes. But I agree that it would be a good idea to throw in the two for a talk with the man.

Wow, that anniversary edition Mustang is certainly a looker. That color makes it a lot cooler and those wheels are certainly a great match to the car.

Its a real honor for Leno to host the father of his dream cars, and to have a friendly chat. It is quiet informative and is a real treat to all car lovers out there.

Yeah you’re right, that would be a good idea. The Iacocca Shelby rivalry was certainly something back in those days, so it would be interesting to hear their take on it now.

Well, it would be a good idea if Leno could guest both Iacocca and Carroll Shelby at the same time. That one would be quite an interesting episode.

Is Jay Leno changing the genre of his show? Kidding aside. Well, Lee Iacocca would be the best guest to talk more about cars and its a good thing that Lee Iacocca accepted the invitation.

Yeah, Leno is indeed one lucky guy. I myself would really die for a chance to meet Iacocca in person. And the car that he is driving looks nice too.

Well now, that was different, Leno’s turning a bit of a fan boy here. But then again, who can blame him? Iacocca is certainly a larger than life figure for us car geeks.
