Ford has decided to go all guns blazing on Jeep with the Bronco. The Blue Oval seems to have gotten everything covered; from stuff like removable doors and roof to tire packages that match the Wrangler’s profile. It started looking like Jeep was losing out on all its unique selling points, but it has decided to do something that the Bronco probably can’t in its infancy stage – offer more bang for the buck.

According to MoparInsiders.com, Jeep could start offering more standard equipment on the 2021 Wrangler model to fend off the attack from Ford Bronco. Sounds like a good idea, doesn’t it?

What Optoins Now Come Standard for the 2021 Jeep Wrangler?

The outlet cites its dealer source who say the 2021 Wrangler will see more standard equipment changes in the mechanical as well as the tech department.

This was earlier seen on the higher trims whereas the base model received the Command-Trac system. This system helps switch from two-wheel drive on smooth roads to four-wheel drive for continuous traction on snow, ice rain, or mud. As for the Rubicon trim, it will now come standard with the full-time Rock-Trac system.

Jeep will also take the Off-Road Plus button from the Gladiator and offer it on the Wrangler Rubicon model. It allows the drivers to adjust throttle, transmission shift points and traction control for peak performance on higher speed passes on sandy terrain, as well as during low-speed rock crawling, with just the press of a button. This feature will also enable drivers to lock their rear axle at high speeds while in “4H”.

New Tech For The 2021 Wrangler

In terms of technology, the Wrangler Rubicon and Sahara trims will feature the Forward Facing Camera, again, picked up from the Gladiator. This will be a boon for folks who take their trucks off the roads quite often. Also, all the models that feature the seven-inch UConnect touchscreen infotainment system will benefit from Selectable Tire Fill-Alerts. With this feature, the horn will honk once when the Wrangler has reached its desired tire pressure, and thrice if the pressure is too high or low.

This package includes:

-* Seven-inch Uconnect Touchscreen Infotainment System

-* Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

-* GPS Antenna Input

-* Seven-inch TFT Color Display in the Gauge Cluster

-* SiriusXM with One-Year Radio Subscription

-* USB port

-* Air-Conditioning with Automatic Temperature Control

-* Air Filtering

Final Thoughts

It’s the lower trims that seem to benefit the most here, along with a few add-ons to the higher trims. This is a clear indication that Jeep is trying to make the Wrangler look more attractive to people on a budget. It could also be a ploy because a lot of people tend to buy lower variants and add accessories as per their liking. This way, even the Mopar accessories will receive a sales boost.

Jeep will also look to add more optional accessories and try to boost the sales from there to earn more revenue. On average, a buyer spends $800 on accessories for the Wrangler.

This is a big earning for the company. And Ford has taken a leaf out of Jeep’s book when it comes to selling accessories. The Blue Oval has teamed up with Yakima and will be offering over 150 accessories for the Bronco right from its launch to take on Jeep and Mopar.

It now needs to be seen if Jeep will increase the starting price of the Wrangler. In all likelihood, there won’t be a hike, but Jeep will keep an eye out on the prices of the Bronco.
