Ken Block began collaborating with Audi last year and this white Audi e-Tron GT is the first in a line of several electric cars that will be at his disposal. He will reveal each of them over a six-part series by Hoonigan.

I have to admit, the wrap has certainly transformed the otherwise clinical AUDI design into something that’s far more adventurous

We are joined by Ken Block and Niel Cole in a studio. They’re going to give us a quick rundown on the car. But before that, Ken touches upon how cars like the legendary Audi Quattro that won several WRC championships back and Pikes Peak back in the day actually inspired him. Today he finds it surreal that he’ll not only be involved with the German marque with Electrikhana but will actually be involved in the development of their road cars.

A lot has already come of this new partnership as Audi has already designed and built the S1 e-Tron Quattro Hoonitron for Ken. The car was unveiled a few months ago and draws heavily from the 1980s S1, only this time around, it’s all-electric.

Ken Block and Hoonigan will reveal more all-electric Audi's that will soon be part of his electric fleet, in a six-part series of films

While Ken has traditionally used matte black wraps, he has off late grew fond of white and one of the first cars he wrapped white was his Quattro

Only now let’s look at what Ken’s gone and done to the car. If it isn’t already obvious, this one has been wrapped. While Ken would mostly start out with all-black wraps, he’s found a liking for white off late. The very first car that he recently wrapped white was his Sport Quattro, and now we’ve got this e-Tron GT. At the end of the day, the classic german styling is all there, but it’s been given a heavy dose of oomph that adds to the drama. Who said EVs were boring?

Apart from the wrap, these ROTIform and Aerodisc wheels also add a lot of visual drama. These wheels were chosen based on an Instagram poll and what fans liked

The wheels come from RotiForm and rubber by Toyo tires, both sponsors of course. Ken in fact put an Instagram poll and the ones you see here, the NGO got the most votes. The second most popular design, the aero discs now sit on the front axle.

Performance

Aluminum body panels and carbon fiber have been used extensively to keep the balance and weight in check

Niel briefly touched upon the technology behind the e-Tron GT and how the production car borrows a lot of it from the R18 e-Tron Quattro racing car that Audi used to win at Le Mans 24 hours. The road car adopts a lot of tech from the race car be it the powertrain components like the motors, battery, cooling modules, etc.

The e-Tron being all-electric is considerably heavier and AUDI has gone to great lengths to keep the weight in check

Considering EVs are heavy thanks to the battery pack, Audi has gone to great lengths to keep it in check, by the use of a myriad of materials with everything from carbon fiber to aluminum.

But despite the added weight, the 637 hp and 660 and 612 lb-ft of torque makes the e-Tron GT the fastest ever Audi RS ever

He went on to add that the e-Tron being an EV, altitude has zero effect on the car’s performance and so Ken would have no problem taking on Pikes Peak. The RS e-Tron is packing 637 horses with 612 pound-feet of torque, making it the fastest e-Tron ever. The air suspension would also come in handy when Ken decides to take it up into the mountains of Utah.

This being an EV, it won’t affect the car’s performance should Ken decode to take it up into the hills of Utah, which I’m sure he will. That rood box can carry skies

I for one can’t wait to see Ken take it out on track first. Watch this space.
