We can’t decide which ones we want to cry over

Koenigsegg is no stranger to flexing its muscles at the Geneva Motor Show. This year, the Swedish automaker is doing the double-showcase routine with a pair of other-worldly Regera hypercars. Koenigsegg says that these Regeras imbibe the company’s dual personalities of sportiness and elegance. Promo phrases aside, these Regeras are what they are. They’re objects of automotive lust, exotic hell-raisers that were put on this earth for all of us to drool over. Let the drooling commence in Geneva.

The more sporting version of the two is the one that’s dressed in a Crystal White lacquer with a clean carbon center strip running the length of the car

The important thing to remember here is that the two Koenigsegg Regera hypercars are packaged differently to showcase what Koenigsegg is capable of from a personalization perspective. The more sporting version of the two is the one that’s dressed in a Crystal White lacquer with a clean carbon center strip running the length of the car, and Cone Orange trim spread throughout the body. The play in colors is a nice sight, but it’s not even the most important element of the car. That distinction falls on the Ghost aerodynamic package. You can see where the aero bits were added in the photos. There’s a deep spoiler in the front and winglets at the back, designed specifically to work with the active rear spoiler. Altogether, the kit enhances the Regeras downforce by as much as 20 percent compared to the “standard” version. For a car that packs almost 1,500 horsepower, 20 percent more downforce is a huge deal. The interior also gets orange and black leather with contrast stitching and a polished aluminum center column. Polished carbon fiber accents spread throughout the cabin complete the fancy work.

The interior also features the same Swedish Blue shade, where it’s joined by an Ocean Green shade

As impressive as the package is, the other Regera is actually the more polished version of the two. It’s called the Regera d’Elegance, and while it doesn’t carry any fancy aero bits, it does get dressed up for the occasion of its Geneva debut. It’s predominantly dressed in Swedish Blue and is complemented by a special blue-tint carbon fiber with matching green exterior striping. The interior also features the same Swedish Blue shade, where it’s joined by an Ocean Green shade. Koenigsegg says that the interior of this Regera also contains a Scandinavian material that’s known for its “luxurious texture, dexterity and the sustainable manner in which it is manufactured.” We don’t know what that means, but we’ll take Koenigsegg’s word for it.

For what it’s worth, both models do have a few things in common, including the “Tresex” carbon fiber wheels. Oh, and they also use a 5.0-liter, twin-turbo, V-8 and an F1-spec battery pack that combine to produce 1,479 horsepower and 1,475 pound-feet of torque. Impressive stuff.

Unfortunately for most of the world’s population, these two Regeras are not for sale

Unfortunately for most of the world’s population, these two Regeras are not for sale. Actually, Koenigsegg doesn’t sell Regeras anymore because all 80 models it plans to build have all been sold.
