It’s the proper send-off for one of the world’s most iconic supercars

It’s time to say goodbye to the Koenigsegg Agera, and the Swedish automaker is giving it a proper send off by creating three Final Edition models, including the last two Ageras named “Thor” and “Väder.” The final two Ageras have just been completed, and they’re scheduled to make their debuts at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s been a great eight-year run for the hypercar, capped off by claiming the fastest production car record from the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. But, there’s always an end to all good things, and the Agera is no exception.

Koenigsegg built 68 units, including seven One:1s, 25 Agera RS’s, and three Final Edition models.

The Koenigsegg Agera is arguably Koenigsegg’s most important model. It’s been around since 2010 and has taken different forms all these years. All told, Koenigsegg built 68 units, including seven One:1s, 25 Agera RS’s, and three Final Edition models. Two of these three Final Edition models have been named “Thor” and “Väder,” completing a set that began when the first Final Edition model was unveiled in March 2016.

Thor and Väder are actually based on the record-breaking Agera RS. That makes them special by themselves, but in true Koenigsegg fashion, both models received their own exclusive touches. The Agera FE Thor, for example, is finished in two-tone clear carbon with diamond-flake in certain sections of the body. It also has a large Le Mans-style central fin, an important aerodynamic feature that should improve its high-speed stability, custom front winglets, larger front and rear spoilers, and the 1MW engine upgrade.

By comparison, Väder also gets the same clear carbon finish with diamond-flake as Thor. But it also has white gold leaf highlights, creating an even more striking look than its counterpart. A massive rear spoiler is also a prominent feature on Väder. It’s supported by strakes with bespoke cutouts, revealing the skeleton that supports the function of the active rear wing. It looks much more striking than Thor, but let’s not kid ourselves into thinking that one is better than the other.

You can have either of these two hypercars, and you’re going to have a good night’s sleep. Thor and Vader are both powered by a 5.0-liter, turbocharged, V-8 engine that produces 1,360 horsepower and 1,011 pound-feet of torque. That output figure was achieved with the help of Koenigsegg’s 1MW engine upgrade. It’s the same output that the Agera RS had when it started laying world records by the wayside, capping that record-setting run with an average top speed run of 277.9 mph, begin the fastest street-legal production car in the world in the process.

Two lucky owners from Germany will get to call the Agera FE Thor and the Agera FE Väder

Now, two lucky owners from Germany will get to call the Agera FE Thor and the Agera FE Väder. The two models still have some publicity stops along the way, including an appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but production of the Agera line is effectively over now that the last two Final Editions are out and about. The good news for Koenigsegg fans is that the company still has the Regera. Lord knows what kind of SE units it has planned for that model. On top of that, a successor to the Agera is already in the works. We’ll have to wait until the 2019 Geneva Motor Show to see it in the flesh, but what’s less than a year to us and Koenigsegg, right?
