The Huracan is a successful product, and Lamborghini knows it. No wonder it can’t stop churning out newer versions of this model even today. The latest iteration of the supercar is called the Huracan Tecnica, and it comes with STO power. Lamborghini has stated that the Huracan Tecnica will be just as exciting to drive on the road and on the track.
The Huracan Tecnica is powered by the same 5.2-liter, naturally aspirated V-10 engine that churns out 631 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque at 6,500 rpm. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox powers the rear wheels exclusively. It also comes with torque vectoring and rear-wheel steering. As for the performance figures, it takes 3.2 seconds from 0 to 62 mph and has a top speed of 202 mph.
What’s Special About The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica?
The Tecnica comes with three modes – Strada, Sport, and Corsa. In Strada, the engine and gearbox are tuned for comfortable daily driving in whichever setting you choose. In Sport mode, things are a little livelier and you can have ‘controlled’ fun. The rear-wheel steering comes into play more prominently and so does the torque vectoring. Finally, there’s the Corsa mode that unleashes the car’s and driver’s race spirit and the car is at its best. The powertrain is calibrated for faster gearshifts and track-oriented throttle response.
What’s Different On The Outside?
While it is a Huracan at the end of the day, certain elements distinguish it from the other Huracan models. For starters, there’s a carbon fiber hood that’s sculpted the match the car’s overall persona. The bumper features the Terzo Millennio’s black Ypsilon design and comes with an air curtain. This is a first for a Huracan. There’s also a new front splitter with lower, open slats directing air through the wheels. It helps improve not just the cooling, but also increases the downforce.
You can see the Ypsilon design continue along the flank of the car to the side air intake. There are some elements like the daylight opening line that are inspired by the Essenza SCV12. The Huracan Tecnica rides on 20-inch Damiso diamond-cut wheels. They are inspired by the wheels present on the Lamborghini Vision GT. The wheels are shod in 245/30 section Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires at the front, and 305/30 section tires at the back.
The Huracan Tecnica measures 179.8 inches in length, 76.1 inches in width, and 45.9 inches in height. While the width and the height are similar to the other Huracan models, the Tecnica is 2.4 inches longer than its alter egos. The wheelbase measures 103.2 inches. The front and rear tracks are 65.7- and 64 inches wide. The dry weight is rated at 3,040 pounds.
At the rear, you can see a new vertical glass window and a redesigned engine hood composed of lightweight carbon fiber. The rear bumper is new, too, and comes with an optimized air inlet. The aggressive diffuser can be had in the body color or in black. The final differentiating factor at the rear is the new hexagonal exhaust pipes.
The automaker has worked on keeping the weight at a minimum, which is evident with the generous use of carbon fiber. Apart from this, Lamborghini has also paid special attention to aerodynamics. The Huracan Tecnica contributes to a 35-percent improvement in downforce when compared to the Huracan EVO RWD. Even the drag is reduced by 20-percent. This is majorly courtesy of the fixed rear wing and the aero deflectors on the underbody.
Apart from this, the automaker has also worked on the braking system. It is inspired by the track-going model’s system. The Huracan Tecnica comes with six-piston carbon-ceramic brakes at the front and four-piston brakes at the rear. The rotors measure 15- and 14 inches at the front and back, respectively. They come with specifically designed cooling deflectors and caliper ducts. These help direct the airflow into the discs to dissipate heat more efficiently, and reduce brake fluid temperatures and brake pedal elongation.

What’s Different On The Inside?
When talking about the interior, the Huracan follows the same approach as any other supercar manufacturer – leave it to the customer. There are loads of customization options available and you can personalize the car as per your needs, preference, and requirements. The Tecnica comes with height-adjustable sports seats and harness seat belts. The automaker has redesigned the HMI interface and it is exclusive to the Tecnica. The center console screen puts out drive-related info, including the LDVI functions in real-time display. It even supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa.

Lamborghini hasn’t announced when the Huracan Tecnica will arrive, how much it will cost, or how many numbers it will be limited to. But, we should hear more about it in the near future.
