Apparently, one of the perks of working for Lamborghini, especially if you’ve been with them for over 40 years, is having a car named after you.

Talk about company benefits.

Valentino Balboni, Lamborghini’s long-time lest driver is having a car named after him, aptly called the LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni. The car, which is a special edition rear-wheel-drive Gallardo – is a tribute to the man hired by the company’s founder, Ferrucio Lamborghini, way back in 1967. While Balboni has long hung up his test-driving boots, his contributions to developing and propagating the popularity of Lamborghinis all over the world has not gone unnoticed by his former employers.

As such, the LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni was created to honor the man who played an immense role in the development of a number of Lamborghinis, including the Miura from the 60’s and the Gallardo and Murciélago of recent times.

The LP 550-2 Balboni – all 250 of them – can churn in as much as 55o hp with its power coming from a 5.2-liter V10 engine. As we’ve mentioned, this model unique for its rear-drive element – a feature where the engineers at Lamborghini moved the car’s transmission to the back axle.

As a result, the car runs on a completely different driving dynamic from all other Lamborghini cars ever released.

The car’s interior is also a sight to behold. Form the black leather with white accents, to the polar white center console, the car’s interior carries with a mix of old-school class and new-school technology, including a rear-view camera, a navigation system, and did we mention that the car also has Bluetooth?

Anybody who’s fond of Lamborghini and now considers Valentino Balboni their hero, you can purchase this extremely limited edition Gallardo for $219,800.

We’re not quick to feel envious towards anybody, but to have a car manufacturer like Lamborghini create a limited edition supercar just for you, then indulge us this one time.

We’re all jealous of this guy.
