In 2022, Lamborghini will unveil two new versions of the Urus - as the company has already confirmed in a previous statement. One of the two versions will be the facelift version of the Urus - called EVO - which has been spied many times before. The second version is still a mystery - or it was until today.

Our spy photographers caught a new version of the Urus out for some testing sessions. It will either be called Performante or Tecnica and it should be unveiled before the end of 2022.

So, how do we know this is no ordinary Urus? First of all, it has a more aggressive look with some design elements inspired by the Sian supercar. For example, the headlights have the same Y-shaped look we have seen in the recently launched Huracan Tecnica. Also, the SUV will have extra openings in the front to help the engine breathe better.

The current Urus is powered by a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 engine that delivers 641 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 627 pound-feet of torque at 2,250 rpm. We expect the Performante/Tecnica version to deliver up to 700 horsepower.

The model will also be offered with upgraded brakes and a firmer suspension.

In fact, Lamborghini's decision to offer a performance version of the Urus should come as no surprise since Ferrari is working on the Purosangue and Lamborghini needs to do some work to stay on top.
