In the overall scheme of things, Lamborghini isn’t exactly a large auto manufacturer. Sure, it produces some of the most desirable cars in the world, but doing so means more time and manpower goes into each and every vehicle. That may be true, but looking at the numbers, Lamborghini just set another record in its company history – passing the delivery of more than 3,000 vehicles for the first time.

Stephan Winkelman, the President and CEO of Lambo, said in an announcement, “In 2015 Lamborghini delivered an exceptional sales performance and new records in all key business figures, confirming the strength of our brand, product and commercial strategy. With the introduction of several new models in 2015 and a solid order bank, we are well prepared for the year 2016.”

We don’t know how well Lambo will do this year, but it’s pretty clear that the man in charge is more than optimistic for this coming year. It is important to note that 2015 was the first year of full availability for the Huracán LP 610-4, with a total of 2,242 models sold throughout the year, and that is a big number for a rather exclusive brand like Lamborghini. With a total of 3,245 units sold in 2015, overall sales actually grew by 28 percent over 2014. Nobody can argue with a sales increase like that.

Why it matters

All of this just goes to show how important the Huracán is to Lamborghini’s existence. Within its first 18 months of being on sale, it beat out initial sales of the Gallardo (the Huracán’s predecessor) in the same time period by a whopping 70 percent. To me, that says one thing: people love the Huracán, and it is certainly in Lambo’s best interest to continue improving on the model. Who knows, by 2020, Lambo just might hit the 5,000-unit mark. It would be quite the task to accomplish, but a great milestone for a company that produces some of the best-looking cars on the supercar market.

Press Release

In 2015 Automobili Lamborghini set another sales record in its history. With 3,245 cars delivered to customers the company surpassed the 3,000 units mark for the first time, achieving a new milestone not only for sales, but also for brand and product.
"In 2015 Lamborghini delivered an exceptional sales performance and new records in all key business figures*, confirming the strength of our brand, product and commercial strategy. With the introduction of several new models in 2015 and a solid order bank we are well prepared for the year 2016," said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.

With 135 dealers serving 50 countries, worldwide deliveries to customers increased from 2,530 to 3,245 units in 2015. This represents a sales growth of 28% compared to the previous year and 2.5 times the sales of the year 2010.

"We increased sales in all our major regions with new sales records in America and Asia Pacific," continued Winkelmann. "Our biggest markets are the USA and Greater China. They are followed by Japan, UK, the Middle East and Germany, each of them registering considerable growth in 2015."

Lamborghini is a global brand and sales distribution is well-balanced among the three regions: EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), America and Asia Pacific, which each account for approximately one third of global sales.

Thanks to the ten-cylinder Huracán LP 610-4 model, the year 2015 has been the most successful yet in Lamborghini’s history for V10 sales. In its first year of full availability 2,242 units of the Lamborghini Huracán were delivered to customers. Sales figures of the Huracán in the first 18 months after market introduction were up by 70% compared to its predecessor, the Gallardo, in the same period after market launch.
