Lambo’s first Hybrid Could Be The Meanest Car The Company Has Ever Produced

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Domenicali has said that Lamborghini is looking at developing a new high-end niche hypercar with “extreme-aero”. The car would compete with the likes of the Aston Martin Valkyrie and the McLaren Senna. I would say that its buyers would probably consider that delayed Mercedes-AMG One as well. Nevertheless, the new mad, extreme Lamborghini may well be on its way. It would be the maddest, wildest, and naughtiest Lamborghini of all time. Can’t get better than that, can it now?

The Aerodynamics

The latest Lambo to spark our imagination was the limited, but unbelievably fast Aventador SVJ that actually broke the record for the fastest production car at the Nurburgring. That one had extreme aerodynamic features dramatically overshadowing everything Lamborghini did before. Now, the new, alleged Valkyrie fighter will be even crazier in that regard. After all, aside from the powerful engine and the best suspension available, the new limited-edition Lambo should be able to beat them all.

Downforce and high-speed stability are the key factors in making this possible.

So, mad wings, active aero, and the most extreme version of Lambo’s fantastic ALA (Lamborghini Active Aerodynamics) could do the trick.

Although Domenicali said that the car would be “in the vain of Centenario and Veneno,” it would most certainly adopt the advanced features of Lambo’s latest cars

The Engine and the Propulsion

As it turns out, Lamborghini aims to keep the naturally aspirated V-12 for as long as possible. So, the new car should receive the 6.5-liter engine all of us have learned to love ever since it appeared with the Aventador. However, for the honorable cause of propelling the new Valkyrie-competing hypercar, it would be helped by electric motors. No one knows how many or how powerful, but I am betting on a 900+ horsepower propulsion system for this one isn’t out of the question.

I am saying this with great conviction as Lamborghini actually revealed one hybrid car before - the Asterion LPI 940-4.

It was a concept car - a two-door coupe - with a 5.2-liter V-10 engine that we all know from the Huracan. Apart from that ICE, the Asterion pushed a lithium-ion battery pack that supported 296 horsepower electric motors. Add this to the 602 horsepower of the N/A engine, and you have yourself a 900+ horsepower propulsion system. True, the V-10 will not be a part of the new Lamborghini hypercar, but I am sure that a 300ish horsepower electric motor could support the V-12 in its efforts to touch the glory of the Valkyrie and the Senna.

In a world where all car makers are looking to transform the way they propel their cars, high-end manufacturers are trying to do so by showing what electricity can actually do. The famous trio of the LaFerrari, the 918 Spyder, and the McLaren P1 did the most for the cause.

However, Lambo is waiting for their chance too, now competing with the likes of the most extreme production cars the world has ever seen - the Senna and the Valkyrie.

Apart from making it better than all of them, Lambo has an obligation to make a better and a faster car than their latest best car - the Aventador SVJ. That basically means that the new Lamborghini hybrid hypercar has to be faster than the Aventador SVJ around the Nurburgring. It needs to beat a lap time of 6:44.97. Good luck Lambo. Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve.
