The Full Story

It doesn’t get much more iconic than this, folks. The Aston Martin DB5 is without a doubt the most important Bond car of the lot, offering sumptuous style in a cool-as-ice package. First introduced in 1963, the DB5 was indelibly linked to the British secret agent over a series of films, including Goldfinger, Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and several others. Long story short - this is the one you want.

But that much should be obvious just looking at it. Exterior details are spot on, with silver wire wheels, Aston Martin logo wings, and silver front and rear bumpers. The hood also opens up to show off the straight six-cylinder engine underneath, while the doors and the trunk open as well.

Take a peek inside, and you’ll find the cabin comes equipped with a flip-up tracker computer and hideaway spy phone. There’s also a real, working ejector seat, which works with the slide-away roof section to send the baddies flying. How uplifting!

To bolster the DB5’s armor, there’s a slide-up bullet shield that covers the rear window. Alternatively, 007 can go on the offensive by pulling back on the gear lever, revealing machine gun turrets up front.

“The model has been designed to provide a challenging and rewarding building experience full of nostalgia - a must-have for fans of the Aston Martin DB5, James Bond movies, and Lego building sets,” the toymaker says in a press release.

The completed model measures in at 3 inches in height, 13 inches in length, and 4 inches in width. The kit comes with 1,290 pieces total, as well as a few unique building pieces to boot.

The Lego James Bond Aston Martin DB5 will be available for purchase on August 1st. However, Lego VIP members get it a bit earlier - today, in fact.

Pick one up for $149.99 here in the U.S. The kit is offered overseas as well, with pricing varying from country to country. You can buy it in person at any Lego Store, or online at shop.lego.com.
