You don’t need us to tell you who Magnus Walker is, however, you might want to know that he’s part of this gig with Hagerty where he scours the car world in the search for future classics. The YouTube show is called The Next Big Thing with Magnus Walker (obviously) and it’s rapidly turning into one of our all-time favorites.

This episode looks at two Bertone-designed vehicles which you might tag as underdogs: the Lamborghini Espada and the Ferrari 308 GT4.

The 308 GT4 is important for Ferrari because it managed to break a 20-year collaboration between the Prancing Horse and Pininfarina. Yes, the 308 GT4 was penned by Bertone in the shape of a 2+2, mid-engine coupe that stretched to under 4.3 meters (14.1 feet) in length.

Ferrari showed the Dino 308 GT4 at the 1973 Paris Motor Show with a 2.9-liter V-8 engine good for 252 horsepower at 7,700 rpm and a top speed of 250 kph (155 mph).

In the meantime, Lamborghini was raking in big money from the hot-selling Espada. Also penned by Bertone, the Espada was a four-seater for the whole family as it was a performance car. A 4-liter V-12 developed between 325 and 350 horsepower depending on its state of tune, which was enough for the Espada to reach a Vmax of 250 kph (155 mph).

Just 1,227 Espadas were ever produced, and for 10 years straight (1968-1978), it was Lamborghini’s best-selling model.

We obviously don’t want to spoil the good fun for you but Magnus Walker gets to drive both the Espada and the 308 GT4. No, we’re not jealous. We’ve just watched the video below five times already. Which is something we highly advise you to do, too.
