Sporty crossovers->ke288 are weird things. Even though most people have now abandoned the pretense that these machines will ever go off-road, it still seems vaguely unnatural for something so high off of the ground to be going fast, especially around corners. So if the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe (which is not a coupe->ke141 at all, it's a four-door crossover) was built by any other company, that company might struggle to convince anyone to think of it as sporty. But Mercedes-Benz->ke187 does not have this problem, because Mercedes-Benz can just call Lewis Hamilton.

The reigning Formula 1->ke190 world champion won the last season behind the wheel of a Mercedes, and now he's in an ad, telling us that the GLE Coupe is sporty enough to satisfy even his unnaturally high standards for excitement. This is probably a bit of a stretch, but it's far from being the most absurd claim to have ever been made in an advertisement, and Hamilton's driving (assuming that it is Hamilton driving, but it would be pretty odd if it wasn't) does a good job of showing off how well the car can handle when pushed.

2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe

To tell the truth, this ad is almost more for Hamilton himself than it is for the car. He has noticeably more screen time and talks about himself and Formula 1 more than he does about the car. The things he's saying are true, especially about people not realizing how physically demanding F1 can be, but he talks about the car, too. A little. Whatever the reason, the ad caught our attention and that's what ads are supposed to do.
