Why it maters

Given the tight scheduled Formula One drivers have from February to November, spending a day with the Gumball 3000 is easier said than done. On the other hand, with the Mercedes-AMG dominating the series once again this year, Hamilton should have a comfortable lead in the drivers' championship by the time he needs to take the trip to the U.S.

It would be best if he could take his W06 race car with him, but I can't see that happening unless it gets flown in by pigs.
