We have been expecting to see a Lexus GS-F sports sedan for quite some time now, but Lexus->ke47 made no official confirmation into this direction. At least not until now, as Toyota has filed three different trademarks, one of them being the GS-F. The other two are “FT-HT” and “XSE” - the latest one most likely referring to a new concept car.

The new GS-F trademarked was filed on March 15, 2013 for "automobiles and structural parts thereof" and has been filed only in the U.S., but not in Canada.

Previous rumors suggest that the GS-F will be offered with an upgraded version of the 5.0-liter V-8 from the IS-F, developing around 450 horsepower. However, since Lexus decided to discontinue the IS-F, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a completely different engine offered in the GS-F.

Expect the new Lexus GS-F to arrive sometime in 2014 as a competitor for models like BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG.
