Lamborghini has started the development of the Urus Evo as spy photos of a camouflaged prototype have started to come into circulation. The prototype was seen testing in the snow alongside a current version of the Urus. A handful of changes are expected in the Urus Evo, regarded as an updated version of the super SUV that Lamborghini launched in 2018. The testing phase is still in the early stages so don’t expect the Urus Evo to debut at least until the latter part of 2021 or well into 2022.

The camouflaged prototype is not a next-generation model; it’s a mid-cycle refresh that addresses areas for improvement without changing parts of the super SUV that are already working well.

There are some noticeable tweaks to the bumpers, air intakes, and lighting configuration. A graphics package could also be part of the Urus Evo offering. Interior changes should be limited as well. An updated infotainment system would be a welcome addition and new trim options would likely be offered.

A bump in output from the current 641-horsepower and 626-pound-feet-of-torque output could be in the cards. It won’t be a big spike, but it could be significant enough to improve the SUV’s performance times. In its current form, the Urus can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 190 mph.

The Urus Evo is one of a few versions of the Lamborghini SUV that’s in the pipeline. Lamborghini has also confirmed a plug-in hybrid variant that could début alongside the Urus Evo later this year or early next year.
