The latest episode of This vs That on Hoonigan saw a bonkers Chevy Trailblazer take on an equally souped-up Dodge Hellcat. It all went down at the Sant Margarita Ranch in San Luis Obispo County, California. There's a decade between these two cars, but that doesn't really matter cause they've both got some Go. Let's take a closer look at the contenders.

2006 Turbocharged Chevy Trailblazer a.k.a 'Big Booty Judy'

In the THIS corner, you've got Cody Boaze' '06 Trailblazer. Popping that carbon-fiber hood reveals a 402 stroker or 6.6-liter V-8 with an 80 mil Borg Warner Turbo strapped onto it and the result is 1000 horsepower. That mighty Big Block is mated to a 4L80 four-speed transmission. While this rig was originally rocking the standard 4WD, Cody wanted to find out how this bad boy would fare with power going just to the rear wheels. All things considered, the Big Booty Judy tips the scales at a colossal 5,000 pounds.

Don't for a second assume that this Chevy is anything but ordinary. The black paint may be plain jane, but subtle mods like that carbon fiber hood, Mickey Thompson ET Radial Streets on the rear axles, and skinnies on the front should be enough to tell you that you're looking at something lethal. As ridiculous as it may sound, Cody says that he even takes his kids to school, but with proper chairs and luxuries like heated seats, you might as well use things thing for your school run.

2016 Supercharged Dodge Hellcat a.k.a 'Christina'

In the THAT corner, you've got Damien Deleston's 2016 Dodge Hellcat. Now Damien says that apart from a few bolt-ons, this thing is pretty much stock. Okay, I suppose he meant almost stock because the thing has upgraded pulleys, cold air intake, a lightweight driveshaft, along with a tune and she runs on E85. Alright, only the exhaust is stock. With all those mods, the Hellcat now pushes 900 horsepower from that 6.2-Liter supercharged V-8. It sends power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed auto. This Mopar car isn't light though with all of those extra bolt-on parts and weighs 4500 pounds.

'Christina' as Damien calls her is also his daily driver, where he also takes his kids to school. He has done the occasional cross-country trip, from Arizona to New York and back. He's never dynoed the car and this was in fact the first time that Damien brought out his ride to the racetrack to see what's what.

The Races

Round One was your standard run-of-the-mill, 1000-footer drag to see where things stand between the two cars. Owing to the poor reaction time in the Hellcat, Cody took off in the Trailblazer pretty with no problem. Although the SUV looked like it was having a lot of wheelspin, it managed to put most of those 1,000 ponies onto its rear wheels.

For round two, both cars did a 40' roll start. They hammered it past the cones, and this time the Hellcat was definitely able to put its power down, but once again, it was no match for that LS in the Trailblazer, which managed to come on top by a big margin.

In a final bonus round, we see both cars go head to head once again, with the SUV now doing a standing, while the Mopar car was given a 20 roll, and finally, the Dodge finally managed to get to the finish line first. But, it didn't really matter cause the Chevy had already been declared the overall winner.

Conclusion

And, with that, it was a wrap, folks. Some guys from the Hoonigan team got to experience some donuts and it all ended in a lot of smoke. As for the results of this duel, steet tires on the Charger vs the Chevy's Drag radials, this was never going to be easy for the Dodge.
