Contrary to rumors circulating around these days, Ferrari->ke252 chairman and president Luca di Montezemolo will not be leaving his post as Ferrari’s top dog, according to Reuters.

Rumors began flying around of Montezemolo’s intentions after stepping down as Fiat->ke30 chairman a few months back. Those who know the fiery Italian know that the man is the lead man in Ferrari, but also runs a think tank and has hinted in the past of making a leap to politics. In a recent interview he did with the Financial Times, Montezemolo neither agreed to or denied the possibility that he could be in the running to succeed Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi when his time in office ends.

Montezemolo has been the chairman of Ferrari since 1991 and has since led the Prancing Horse to an unprecedented growth as one of the world’s most iconic and sought-after auto brands in the world. The idea of him stepping down from his post in Ferrari has accelerated in light of his sudden resignation as Fiat chairman. Whether that’s a sign of things to come down the road is still anybody’s guess. But for now, it looks like Ferrari will still be led by the charismatic and sometimes volatile Italian.
