Geely Auto-owned Lynk & Co has launched a unique-looking sports coupe concept, which isn’t an EV but looks like one. Meet “The New Day” Concept, which is literally its name. This coupe portrays the brand’s future design ideas while retaining the core elements of its existing cars. The result is a capable coupe that is not only stylish, but also technologically advanced.

The new concept from Lynk & Co looks unique from the outside, primarily because of the angular cuts and clever aerodynamic bits. It is a big step forward for this Chinese-owned Swedish brand. This four-seater GT-esque design is new as the brand is more about SUVs and sedans. The front has sleek vertical LED headlights, with an aggressive front bumper with a huge lip spoiler. Massive side vents flank the vertical intake grille, also uniquely designed. You will notice how modern this coupe looks from the sides, with the same angular approach as the front. There are huge wheels, maybe 21 inches in size, and vertical inlays match the overall design language. But, the essential parts of the exterior are the beautiful suicide doors, which open to a stunning visual experience. The rear sports an LED lightbar that looks sleek and matches the headlight design. Two vertical LED strips are also integrated at the center, which connect the rear spoiler and move when the spoiler lifts. In addition, the rear diffuser looks huge and dominating.

On the inside, “The New Day” has a very flashy cabin, but it's pretty much on part with most recent concept vehicles. The dashboard and the door panels are covered with blue suede and wood accents. A brushed aluminum finish is found on the yoke steering wheel and the center console. The exciting thing about the steering wheel is that it has an integrated digital display, like the Aston Martin Valkyrie. Pretty cool, right? And almost the rest of the dashboard features an infotainment display, which is enormous. The zero-gravity seats are in a dark-blue velvet finish, and it is said they can be reclined fully when driven autonomously.

The new concept from Lynk & Co looks like an EV, but it is not. Instead, it will either be a front-wheel-drive mild-hybrid car or an all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid car if it makes it to production. Lynk & Co is reticent about The New Day’s technical specs, but we will update this article should anything pop up on our radar.
