Manhart has a long list of MHX tuning programs. The most recent one is the MHX6 700 based on the BMW X6 M Competition and it was shortly followed by the MHX5 700 based on the X5 M Competition. The model was first announced back in January, but a new version was just announced since a new customer opted for a more extreme version. As with all the other kits, the MHX5 700 gives the X5 M Competition a power boost, but also an updated look to both inside and out.

What changes are offered under the hood?

From the factory, the BMW X5 M Competition is offered with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. Not bad numbers for a luxury sport SUV, but there is always room for improvement. Manhart is offering its customers the choice to go for either an MHtronik auxiliary control unit or ECU remapping. No matter the choice, all MHX5 700 models also come with a stainless-steel exhaust system with valve control. It ends with four tailpipes with a diameter of 100 millimeters. Race downpipes without catalytic converters or stainless steel OPF Delete replacement pipes are also available, though, these are not road legal. No matter the choices you opt for, the result is going to be impressive: 730 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque.

What other changes are offered?

The MHX5 700 is a real eye-catcher - there is no doubt about that. But, unlike the first unit, the new one looks way sportier. And that's because the customer wanted his car to feature a lot of carbon fiber. Our favorite part is that cool-looking carbon fiber engine hood with the GTR air outlets. There is also a new front spoiler, new two-piece side skirts, and a new diffuser with central rear fog light in motorsport style - all made from carbon fiber. Also, this is the first Manhart kit we've seen in a while that doesn't go for the traditional black finish with yellow stripes. Instead, the customer opted for a deep dark blue finish that gives the car an even more aggressive look.

The customer opted for a special set of 23-inch Hamann Anniversary Evo Black Line wheels wrapped in 315/25ZR23 tires. A new set of height-adjustable H&R coil springs will bring the car closer to the asphalt and will help improving the driving dynamics.

There will be a few changes done on the interior too, but in general, the SUV remained in its standard condition. Manhart opted for a combination of the finest materials such as leather and plenty of carbon. As an option, you can go for gearshift paddles and a steering wheel made in carbon fiber, plus special Manhart floor mats.
