Manthey’s Performance Kit Makes the Porsche 911 GT3 one of the Top 10 Fastest Production Cars on the Nürburgring

Manthey’s Performance Kit improves the Porsche 911 GT3’s lap time by more than 4 seconds!

When Manthey Racing modifies a Porsche car it does it with one purpose in mind: to improve the car’s time around the 13-mile Nürburgring-Nordschleife track. It did it with the Porsche 911 GT2 RS - a car that after the changes broke the record and became the fastest road-legal production car around Nürburgring with a lap time of 6:43:30. Now, the same treatment was applied to the Porsche 911 GT3, and while the sports car broke no record, the changes still considerably improved its lap time.

Manthey Racing announced the kit for the new 911 GT3 back in December 2021, but it was until now that the car was actually tested on the track. During the run, the modified 911 GT3 was driven by Porsche works driver, Kévin Estre. He managed to push the sports car around the 20.8-kilometre (12.9 miles) course in just 6:55.737 – 4.19 seconds faster than the standard 911 GT3 did last year. Both models were equipped with the optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. This result puts the 911 GT3 in the top ten fastest production cars around Nürburgring, behind supercars like the Mercedes-AMG Black Series or the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

while there are no changes made under the hood, pretty much everything else is updated: the car’s aerodynamics, suspension, brakes, and wheels.

Like with every other package, the upgrades Manthey is offering are focused on improving the car’s time around the Nürburgring racetrack. And while there are no changes made under the hood, pretty much everything else is updated: the car’s aerodynamics, suspension, brakes, and wheels. The aero changes include a new larger spoiler lip and side flaps, modified air guide elements on the underbody, a wider rear wing, and enlarged end plates. The kit also includes a new set of bespoke Manthey lightweight wheels - sized 20 or 21 inches and painted in either Brilliant Silver, Dark Silver, Neodyme or (satin-gloss) Black. They help reducing the final weight by 7.3 kilos or about 16 pounds. They are combined with a four-way adjustable suspension kit and an upgraded braking system with braided lines and pads.

The 4.0-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine delivers 502 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque. When equipped with the seven-speed PDK gearbox, the 911 GT3 goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and up to a top speed of 197 mph. On the U.S. market, the 911 GT3 is prices from $161,100, with deliveries set to start towards the end of 2022.
