The talks of the new Corvette Z06 started within a few days after the standard C8 was launched. The car was spotted testing in the past as well. After making us wait for a couple of years, the company decided to announce in August this year that the Z06 is coming soon. The countdown had then begun, and we are now around 24 hours away from its official debut at the time of writing this article.

The 2023 Corvette Z06 will be launched on 10.26.2021 at 1200 ET, and this is where you can watch the live stream:

What Do We Know About The Corvette Z06 So Far?

The company had released a picture without camouflage back in September that gave us a good idea of what the car will look like. The car was finished in silver and featured a sharp front splitter up front along with air dams. It came with silver-finished dual-six-spoke wheels wrapped in low-profile rubber and red calipers peeping behind. It looks like the car will come with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires.

The car is a lot more chiseled than the standard model and features air ducts on the side profile. A rear wing will be present even on the base model, but an adjustable one could be offered on optional packages. A track-focused performance package could be revealed at the time of the launch or sometime in the near future. This would have stuff like lighter wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, more carbon fiber components around the body, and a larger wing and diffuser at the rear along with other aggressive aero elements.

Coming to the mechanical specs, here’s what we know about it thus far:

- To feature a 5.5-liter, flat-plane crank V-8 engine that is present in the C8.R race car

- Expected to make over 600 horses (perhaps 617 ponies, if we were to be precise with our guesstimates)

- Could be mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox sourced from Tremec

- It will redline at 8,600 rpm, if we go by the latest teaser
